Louis Krupp came to the Palm Springs region after World War II. He was active in the Palm Springs and the Laguna Beach art associations, and taught portrait painting at Palm Springs High School.
He came to America from his native Bavaria, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York. Over his artistic career, he did over three thousand portraits. After moving to the west coast in 1946 at the age of fifty-eight, he maintained his studio in Rancho Mirage, CA.
