| Signed l/r This painting depicts a grove of the Bohemian Club grounds near Monte Rio, California on the Russian River. A Bohemian Club member has identified this location within the camp. In the background is a horizontal road he identivied as River Road. This path leads down to the road. The redwood stump on the upper left of the painting is evidence of 19th century logging at the sight. This stump is balanced by a sprig of new growth, growing from a stump on the righ of the paintingt. |
